Last year I trained as a celebrant for weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies. I was totally naive in thinking training plus a shiny new website would see me taking lots of bookings. The truth is, it requires hard work - visits to funeral directors and wedding venues, building relationships with suppliers, developing new social media, building content for my website, creating processes etc etc etc! I was completely overwhelmed and under skilled.

Everyone else out there seemed slick, professional and booked. I decided I needed someone on side to support me, so started looking for a coach. I started with general business coaches but wanted someone who understood the industry. Searching for celebrant coaching, I came across many offerings - some at a ridiculous cost and some I didn't feel any connection to.

Then I discovered Hazel - I loved her website, her vibe and her warmth. Something just told me 'this is the one'! I honestly felt I'd found a new friend and I'd had had my money's worth after the first session! She has given me so much more than I expected.

Hazel has taken me on the journey I needed to really discover who I am, who my couples and families are and what I want from my business.

I didn't have a clue about SEO, meta titles and making your website work for you. She explains things in simple ways and really helps you understand what you need to do. She provides a wealth of knowledge and resources - things you can copy and make your own, templates, mini courses and so much more.

After agreeing to our schedule of meetings, she also leaves (often hilarious) voice notes and sends ideas and examples to help you further. Nothing seems too much trouble and I feel she genuinely cares and is championing me on. She absolutely respects the fact life gets in the way sometimes and it's never a problem if I didn't do something I had set myself to do.

The issue for me is I don't want it to end! Celebrancy can be a lonely business and it's easy to feel everyone else is a competitor and doing better than you. Hazel has taught me to 'stay in my lane' and just focus on what I'm doing...and guess what, that is exactly what I needed to get my business off the ground.

If you are unsure about coaching, I would say just go for it. I promise you won't regret it.

The course really motivated me to review my current website and also to focus on which keywords I want to rank rather than trying to be all things to all people. I have immediately reviewed my website and increased the text on all the pages. I still have many more actions to do!

I thoroughly recommend Hazel’s glow up report. Although I am an instagram user, I'm not hugely confident and was feeling a bit lost.

the course is fab, and I’ve totally revamped my instagram posting profile process, using images that match my brand, SEO keywords, and I no longer post different posts to FB, I let the META integration for cross posting do the heavy lifting, which will also tune in to my website (when the revamp is finished).
